iPhone Internet connection settings:
iPhone allows browsing through a wireless Internet network (WiFi).
Go to settings and enter WI-FI, choose your internet connection and
enter your connection password if needed.

 
The device detects the networks that are recognized and
will remember them, secure networks and set automatic logon.
You will be connected to the Internet each time you'll be
around one of those networks.

iPhone WI-FI/3G connection:
You can easily know when your iPhone is using 3G or WiFi connection;
When using WiFi you will see a WiFi icon that tells you how strong your
connection is, if your iPhone can’t find WiFi you will see on the same
icon spot a 3G icon.  

 




Notice: Whenever the iPhone can't find a WiFi connection it
will automatically connect to the internet through 3G.
While most WiFi connections are free, the 3G connection


will be charged by your cellular company (3G connection
with no plan is very expensive).
